With wildfires that often demolish households and even take life, the coastal paradise of Malibu, CA is not all sunshine and browsing. Harvey Ruderian, standing on the basis of the property he dropped to a raging fireplace, says he nevertheless considers Malibu a “Shangri La,” regardless of all he’s dropped.
His neighbor Arnold York, a longtime Malibu resident who is publisher of the neighborhood paper, describes the calamities that often strike the place he’s picked out to contact property: “You truly feel it in your upper body before it comes, mainly because the fireplace begins to suck up all the oxygen.”
